SUP Yoga Teacher Training

Change up your regular Wednesday night yoga classes -- and get a tan while you're at it.

With Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) yoga, you are on top of the water, and yet completely part of it. 


It's the ultimate yoga playtime mixed with the best (floating) savasana of a lifetime, sprinkled with a bit of splashing, the wind on your face and the sun on your skin.

This 24-hour course takes place over a 3 day weekend in Brentwood Bay on Vancouver Island.  

Here's what you'll learn:

  • You'll master basic and advanced SUP and rescue skills -- so that you're prepared for anything that can happen on the water.

  • Class setup, organization and equipment logistics -- we'll do a lot of this so that you have the skills you need to teach your own SUP Yoga classes with confidence.

  • We'll also talk a lot about environmental considerations and how to assess the weather and water conditions for optimal safety and enjoyment -- so that you have a rad time teaching and your students rave about your classes.

  • There will be a lots of group discussion around the business of yoga -- specifically how to plan and promote a successful SUP Yoga program.


You'll get plenty of opportunity to design classes and

practice teaching them --
leaving you feeling fearless and ready to rock your own classes on thew water by the time your course is complete.

Paddle Canada Basic & Advanced SUP skills certificate

(no previous SUP experience necessary)

*Note: this is a prerequisite in other SUP YTTs. I have included it in the training so as to practice, master & integrate all skills at once.

Free Flow Yoga Pool & Open Water SUP Yoga Instructor Certification



Entry Level Yoga Teacher Training (200HR or equivalent)

*Or in process at the time of this training.
Current First Aid
Comfortable on, in and around the water
A willingness to play & get wet, a lot!




1. BYO SUP - Bring your own Stand Up Paddleboard, paddle, lifejacket & leash

*If you don't have a paddleboard, no worries. 

Pacifica Paddle Sports has very generously offered to rent all of the gear listed above for only $99 (+tax) for the entire weekend.

2. Exposure gear for all types of weather - we will be out on the water rain or shine.  If you get cold easily, a wetsuit or drysuit may be an awesome thing for you to have.
*Wetsuits also available to rent through Pacifica.
